பாமாலை 180 - நீ குருசில் மாண்ட கிறிஸ்துவை

இப்பாடலை எழுதிய ஹென்றி ஆல்ஃபோர்ட் 1810ம் ஆண்டு இங்கிலாந்தில் பிறந்தார். லண்டன் கேம்பிரிட்ஜ் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் தனது பட்டப்படிப்பை முடித்த இவர், 1833ம் ஆண்டு இங்கிலாந்தில் உள்ள ஆம்ப்ட்டன் (Ampton) என்ற கிராமத்தில் உள்ள ஆலயம் ஒன்றில் ஆயராகத் தம் ஊழிய வாழ்வைத் துவக்கினார்.  ஏறக்குறைய 38 ஆண்டுகள் தம் ஊழியத்தைத் தொடர்ந்த இவர், தம் ஊழியக்காலத்தில் ஏராளமான பாடல்களை இயற்றியது மட்டுமல்லாமல், பல்வேறு மொழிகளிலிருந்து பாடல்களை ஆங்கிலத்தில் மொழிமாற்றம் செய்யும் பணியையும் ஆர்வத்துடன் செய்தார்.  அப்படி இவர் தொகுத்த பாடல்களின் பட்டியல் நெடியது. “In token that thou shalt not fear’ எனும் இப்பாடலை அவர் எச்சூழலில் எழுதினார் என்பது குறித்த தகவல்கள் இல்லை. இப்பாடல் வில்லியம் ஜோன்ஸ் (William Jones) என்பவர் எழுதிய St.Stephen எனும் ராகத்தில் அமையப்பெற்றுள்ளது.

Since I could not find a Choir' version of the hymn ”In token that thou shalt not fear” in YouTube, I've posted below the hymn "In Christ There is no East or West" which has been sung in the same tune, "St. Stephen".
